“Solid family – the prosperous motherland – the happiness of mankind“

CONTEST «APPLIED ART»

I stage. HOME TASK

1. Write essay on the theme: “Solid family and family traditions“.
2. Develop the poster, which reveals the content of the motto of the forum: “Solid family – the prosperous motherland – the happiness of mankind“ (size 700*900, it is possible to use a different technology of the production: computer, application, collage, figure, painting, to graph). It must be indicated on the face side of poster: the name, nomination, school, class, city, country. Posters do not send by mail. Poster should be presented to the judges during the 2nd stage. It should be sent via e-mail as well as an other completed home tasks.
3 Write abstract (be ready for examination during 2nd stage) on the topic:

6 – 12 yo. “The hour of work will train greater than the day of explanations, if child is occupied in the workshop, his hands work in favor his mind: it becomes philosopher, considering itself only craftsman“ (J.-J. Rousseau).
13 – 18 yo. “Skill — not science, it only is strong, when the nationality reflects. Common to all mankind skill germinates through only the national form“ (I. Kramskoy).

4. Write brief milestones your creative way. Be ready for the oral presentation while the 2nd stage.

II stage. ELIMINATION

1. Present your creative works on one of the forms of decorative-applied art according to your selection: wood carving, embroidery, gadrooning, straws, birch-barks, crocheting, knittings, weavings, ceramics, to macramé, beads-braid, artistic painting, stained-glass window, wicker-works etc, concept of which would reflect the motto of the forum: “Solid family – the prosperous motherland – the happiness of mankind“. Sent pictures of your finished articles via e-mail as well as any else home works.
2. Prepare monologue on the subject: “Is great the skill of inoculating to people the excellent ideas, which learn to sacrifice all for the happiness of the kind of human“ (Stendhal) on behalf the famous applied skill master, inverted to the contemporary young generation (2 min.) Send it all via e-mail along the other works.

Requirements for the fulfillment of assignments of the competitors:

1. Composition. 2. Expressiveness. 3. Originality. 4. Decorative expression of color and form. 5. Interesting topical solution. 5. Expression of matter, color, volume, space. 6. Self-dependence of the color and compositional solution.

III stage. FINAL

For the participation in 3rd stage have fabric, wood, decoration accessories, needles, threads etc. necessary.
Participants gotta complete handmade impromtu while the 3rd stage — during 1,5 hours makes jerry-built an article on the assigned by judges theme.

Home task is completed in two languages: on the native and in the Russian

1) The executed home task sends into the organization committee until October 1, 2008 by E-mail . For obtaining the invitation for 2nd stage indicate the E-mail necessary.
2) During the registration for the 2nd stage task is represented on the paper and electronic carriers: on the CD-RW only;
3). Each point of task signs by output data of executor;
4). On the computer; the size of the text files Microsoft word with the expansion of doc., all margins 1,5 cm, type Arial, the size of font 11, with the leveling off on the width, table. Insert framework and pictures to the text is strictly prohibited. The tabulator’s position from initially those established not to change;
5). Is represented the photo of a good quality for the publication in the periodical “Gifted children“ (compulsory to sign); the competitor's photo is added as the separate file of size JPG, size must be no 180 kb over; files must be named thus, as given in the following examples: “The reference of Swenson Peter.doc“; JPG — “Photos of Swenson Peter.jpg».
